Speech Therapy

Correction of speech disorders in preschool and school-age children — from a child's first words to fluent, connected speech.

Евгения Романенко — логопед-дефектолог центра «Сказка»

What does a speech therapist-defectologist do?

Speech therapy sessions target every component of speech: sound pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, connected speech, and communication. We work with speech delay, dyslalia, dysarthria, alalia, stuttering, and other disorders.

At Skazka, speech therapy is closely linked with neuropsychology: when speech is not progressing because of how the brain is working, our specialists build a joint program. This combined approach delivers a more stable and faster result.

Frequently asked questions

From what age can I book a speech therapist? expand_more
Usually from age 2–3, once the child can hold attention for 15–20 minutes. For more pronounced disorders, we recommend a consultation earlier — after diagnostics, we will choose the right format for sessions.
How long does a session last? expand_more
A standard session is 45–50 minutes. For children aged 2–3, shorter sessions are possible by arrangement with the specialist.
Do I need a doctor's referral? expand_more
No, a referral is not required. Just submit a request on the website or call us, and our administrator will find a convenient time.
What is the difference between a speech therapist and a defectologist? expand_more
A speech therapist corrects speech: sounds, vocabulary, grammar, and connected speech. A defectologist works with a wider range of developmental disorders. At our center, one specialist combines both areas of expertise and brings in a neuropsychologist whenever needed.
How soon will I see results? expand_more
The timeline is individual and depends on the child's age, the type of disorder, and how regularly sessions are attended. The first changes are often noticeable after 1–2 months with sessions 2–3 times a week.
